Introductory and advanced workshops will introduce students to all phases of the writing process, including idea generation, writing and revising drafts and editing.

Discover writing through a range of projects including essays, short stories and poetry
Study the work of renowned writers and discover your own voice
Find out how to use the world around you as a source of ideas and inspiration
Benefit from regular and extensive writing practice and balanced critical evaluation
Students will write extensively and the course is intended for those who want to understand and harness the forces of creative language to produce original poems, scenes from a play or movie, song lyrics and short stories.

Students will challenge themselves creatively and learn to write in a truly inspiring environment.

ISSOS International Summer Schools are amazing. The staff are incredibly welcoming. The teachers are engaging and encouraging and their classes are interesting and dynamic. The accommodation is safe and comfortable. The location was wonderful and there is the opportunity to go on fun and interesting trips. I would recommend ISSOS to anyone who wants to practise and improve their English skills, study interesting academic and elective classes, meet friends from lots of different nationalities and have so much fun!

Students are housed in one of the university’s traditional halls of residence, which provides a safe, welcoming, and comfortable ‘home away from home’ throughout the three-week program. These halls capture the charm and character of St Andrews while offering modern amenities for students to enjoy.

All students will live together in university accommodation, with access to common rooms, study areas, and social spaces that encourage a strong sense of community.
